FOSTER HOPE AND HELP END THE STIGMA SURROUNDING SUBSTANCE ABUSE
Project OPEN is a group of medical, brain health, public health, education, social service, individuals from the recovery community, court and law enforcement organizations and various non-profits in Lee, Ogle and Whiteside Counties who have come together to help build a network to prevent opioid addiction (through awareness, education, and training), increase access to treatment options, and make our communities recovery-friendly.
Drug overdoses are now the leading cause of death nationwide for those under the age of 50.
In 2016, over 1,900 people died from an overdose, which is almost twice the number of fatalities from car accidents.
